Two recent front page items showed the necessity for a new forum, and a new section to put that forum in.

By next week, the Folding@Home team should notch it's first 100,000 point milestone. Thanks to all for your contributions and to patermann for his efforts in highlighting everyone's contributions.

The BOINC team is poised to follow up on it's equivalent milestone around the same time, and I've yet to post any stats for these teams!
I hope to get started on this in the coming week.


I have delayed submitting this site to search engines until now as content has been slowly added and I had hoped for a few more members by now, so perhaps it's time to do a submission.

As of now, we have a staff of only one (+1 in a limited capacity), and for a successful "team", we will need more input and help. Some positions, I would like to eventually fill would be:

• Forum Host
  
• F@H moderator
  
• BOINC moderator
  
• Security Alerts moderator

... just to name a few. More would be needed as the forum (hopefully) grows.

Experience has shown that with growth comes growing pains sometimes. I have also learned about doing things too quickly and being unprepared for the challenges that may and could arise. I think I am better prepared this time.

While adding content is still a concern and will always be, I feel comfortable with these humble beginnings to think more of the future. In the course of finding a home for this forum, I had test-drove some other options and I can use one or more of them as a training ground for any interested parties. The only drawback is that you would have to sign up for another forum.

There, training can proceed out of the public eye until you and I (or other staff) feel you are ready to undertake a more active role here. It's really not hard if you are willing to take the time to read the available material and follow the training guidelines. Though I have served as a Host for another forum, my only experience in running a forum is here, so we will all learn and grow together.

If anyone feels they can help Make A Difference OR is interested, simply PM me and confidentiality can be maintained.
Attention to detail is a plus.
