Unfortunately, our last new member had decided to sign up using a fake or invalid email address. In addition, they never activated their account - probably because of not replying to the activation email, so the forum passed the first test in preventing forum spam as well as exposing our true members to any spam or threat.

In addition, I have managed to track down several other bogus (?) email addresses and ID's to go along with this one.

So, yes, the visual confirmation code is a bit of a pain, - oh it's a big pain, but it does serve a purpose.

Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't derive any pleasure from banning anyone and hope to not have to do this again. However, I will be diligent with all new members and check up as much as I can, and if I see another instance, like this one, who's "homepage" has been blocked for the same reason, I will take great pleasure in removing them from this board.
