A quick post to let everyone know that Karen and i are finally on the road. We left Sydney on the 1 September and after spending 3 1/2 weeks in Melbourne and Geelong the cold weather was too much for us and we headed up north to the Sunshine Coast where we are now.
We have a XK660 and we LOVE the van. It tows like a dream (partly due to the MB ML350 of course). It is so comfortable and it looks great (kicks all other caravans' arses!!), prettiest van in every caravan park.
As with any 5 year old van, we are having a few small repairs/replacements done to make sure the van stays in tip top shape.
We dropped into Prestige Caravan & RV Works the other day and were extremely impressed by Gary Scrambler's inexhaustible knowledge of Geists and the sopare parts he keeps. We bought a few bits and pieces and will get some more replacement items. We are alos getting the van serviced in a few weeks with some minor fixes (new jockey wheel, relief valve, etc.) oh yeah and also a minor repair job after yours truly decided to back into a light pole without the assistance of my directress!! Only minor damage but it was a good lesson to be learnt.
We have seen only 2 Geists on the road so far, 1 in Toowoomba (XK630) and here in Coolum Beach. Michael Vos and his lovely wife in their XK660.
We are looking forward to meeting everyone in the Barossa in February.

Hi there Robert & Karen,
Welcome to Qld. Yes we use Gary for our XK485 and I would recommend him to anybody in this part of Qld.We travel up from Brissie for our regular 'log book' service.
We are in Coolum 28th Oct for a week.The surfclub has wonderful meals

We leave Coolum Wednesday but will be back around the 31st. We'll probably spend another week here in Coolum and then move on to try somewhere else on the sunshine coast. We liked Cotton Tree a lot too. So we might catch up with you in the park at Coolum

Ok change of plans. Booked into Cotton Tree for that time not Coolum.(They wouldn't let us park up top by the ocean. And the traffic noise has been waking me at night, there are also some kind of road works going on outside the park so it's pretty noisy day and night! (Karen speaking, Robert sleeps through anything! lol) Great new amenities block here though.
