Hi, The safety/relief/drain valve [the one with the lever on it on floor adjacent to hot water system] constantly overflows while connected to the mais supply, I am wanting to find out if this valve limits the water pressure or is limited at the point I connect the hose to on side of van.I am thinking it is overflowing due to high pressure and I am assuming the pressure would be reduced somewhere.Hope someone can help. Thanks Jeff

Hi Jeff,

My understanding is that the red valve is the pressure relief valve for the HWS. In fact I have replaced mine once because it was allowing too much water to escape, to the point where it was effecting the performance of the HWS.
The new valve also allows a very small amount of water to escape, but I am told that it is better that way, than for the valve not to be working. I guess it is only natural for the water to expand as it is heated and thus the need for the pressure relief.
The main reason that they leak is from overpressure or a small impurity being trapped in the seat of the valve after it has opened. For this reason I have a water pressure limiting valve which I fit to the tap at the mains supply: This restricts the water pressure to the van and has an inbuilt filter. There is a pressure limiter built into the van (I believe), but my system lowers the pressure befor it gets into the van - also helps the hose connections when operating in areas where there are surges in water pressure.
Should you need a new valve then Ansu Leisure does have them in stock.
Hope this is of some help.
Regards

Geoff

There is a pressure limiter in the hose connection to the van.

I think from memory that it is of a Colorado brand.

I have had to replace mine, which was done under warranty.

Another van owner I know of by-passed the pressure limiter when it became faulty and destroyed the mixer taps.

If the water is streaming out only under mains pressure then the pressure valve into the van (Colorado) could be defective or on its way out.

I had this problem a couple of years ago. I think the pressure reducer at the connection point was probably to blame but simply put a 25 psi reducer in the water hose about a metre from the connection point on the van. Problem fixed.

Hi

I've just read your replies and comments. My red pressure relief valve has begun to drip too. I cant find a pressure reducer in my van ,535, unlees it is either in the connector on the van wall or the one way valve to stop backflow to the pump.

Ialso can't find one on line anywhere.
Any suggestions?

Denis

I have a blue pressure reducer just inside under the bed where the external water is connected. If you set the water temp too high the relief valve will leek as designed.

If your valve has Red lever- Change for one with Yellow lever.
Full details on Truma Website.
Inlet point incorporates pressure reducer to 50psi little blue valve in pipework drops pressure to suit Truma.
Had similar problems in LV 485

The Office (United Kingdom) is as terrifying as watching The office DVD the wedding speeches. All of you who cringe at the same time, tune in mentally to try to speed it up, laughing at ineptitude of the speaker, watching the reaction of others to celebrate, when the content Doctor Who DVD is relevant and fun, and generally wonder how we humans can and miscommunicate not be aware of our behavior and how we present ourselves. Anyone who has worked in the office can be associated with a strange co-workers, incapable of Sons Of Anarchy DVD administration, office politics, relationships, cross the boundaries acceptable, in fact, it is surprising that the work is done in the workplace, which has deftly One Tree Hill DVD demonstrated in this series. And that's what Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant have extraordinary trapped in a very original. It borders on voyeurism that we follow unbearably painful missteps of an unhappy boss and his ambitious team Sopranos DVD as they followed in a quasi-documentary format. But where lies the genius is in the exploratory themes and situations that regular sitcoms remote touch.
