Nine Challenge Class medals to U.S. after 2 days of BMX Worlds.

Four more medals will be coming home to the United States
after day two of the UCI BMX World championships in South Africa.

Fifteen-year-old Felicia Stancil (Lake Villa, Ill.) dominated her
Challenge Class division to earn a world title as did Nathan
Padilla (Lakewood, Calif.) in the 16-year-old boys division.

With amateur class competitions complete, attention will
now turn to the junior and elite superstars as they compete
for the title of world champion on Saturday.

Day two consisted of the 14-and-over junior challenge classes
as well as the masters events. American wizz Felicia Stancil
wrapped up her seventh world title at only age 15, sweeping
each moto round and romping to a lopsided win in the 15 Girls
class. Countrywoman Shayona Glynn (Norco, Calif.) took third
in that age division to nearly complete an American sweep.

Nathan Padilla (Lakewood, Calif.) won the highly contested 16
Boys division, earning his rainbow stripes on Friday. Nick Koehler
(Tustin, Calif.) joined Nate in the main event bringing home
seventh place.

Danielle George (Palmdale, Calif.) earned the silver in the 16
Girls division to earn the United States its ninth medal of these
world championships. Shelby Stacy (Bakersfield, Calif.) joined
her in the final, finishing seventh.

Frank Hoskins (Jeffersonville, Ind.) just missed the podium as
he took home a very strong fourth place finish in the 25-29 men�s
division.

Attention now shifts to the junior and senior superstars who
will compete for the prized elite titles on Saturday morning.

The American squad looks to be in good position as Brooke Crain
(Visalia, Calif./Clayborn-Monster Energy) and Taylor Wolcott
(Roseville, Calif./Tangent) qualified one-two in the junior women�s
time trial; and Connor Fields (Henderson, Nevada/Free Agent-
Rockstar) and Corben Sharrah (Tucson, Ariz./Redman-Rockstar)
qualified second and third for tomorrow�s junior men�s final.

The elite men�s and women�s qualifying runs
are set for morning before the afternoon final.

BMX Worlds begins with multiple American medals.

The United States celebrated five medals as the UCI BMX World
Championships opened at the Royal Showgrounds in South Africa
with the 13 and under boys and girls divisions.

Julian Dittrick (Phoenix, Ariz.), Michael Gonzales (Watsonville, Calif.)
and Collin Hudson (Longmont, Colo.) each earned world titles with
wins in their respective divisions.

Amakye Andersen (Tucson, Ariz.) secured the first American medal
with a silver in the seven-year-old boys division. He was quickly
followed by a dominating American performance in the eight-year-
old boys division as Dittrick earned his rainbow stripes with Wyatt
Bell (Berthoud, Colo.) grabbing the bronze and Matthew Sterling
(Saratoga, Calif.) in fourth.

The U.S. suffered from rare near misses with only one rider in the
top eight in the nine-year-old boys division and Max Burhenn (Fortville,
Ind.) just missing the podium in fourth for the 10-year-old age group.

Gonzales and Hudson wrapped up the morning strong for the U.S.
team, winning national titles in the 11 and 13-year-old divisions
respectively.

With a limited number of American girls in attendance, the U.S.
did not come away with a medal in the young junior girls divisions.
New Zealand racers also fared well in the junior challenge classes,
winning golds in the 13-year-old girls division, 5-6 boys division in
the seven-year-old boys.

The afternoon session gave the big crowd a first glimpse of the form
of the top elite men as they went through their first practice session
on the track, testing the start ramp and the big jump at the end of the
second straight that catapults them over the challenger classes turning
berm.

The second day of the UCI BMX World Champs features the
challenge class finals for the 14 and over juniors and the masters
classes, followed by the elite junior men's and women's time trials
in the afternoon.

Whoosh, whoosh, grunt. Whoosh, whoosh, clatter.

Skateboards glide across freshly poured concrete and 20
kids and kids-at-heart watch and wait for their turn to take
a go around Kenroy Park�s new skateboarding feature.

The new Kenroy Park Skate Park is located at N. James Ave
& 8th St NE in East Wenatchee, Washington.

A block before reaching Kenroy Park, you see them: kids
on skateboards, kids toting skateboards. For them, midsummer
has brought a new toy and something new to get out and do.

�This is pretty cool,� said Kaleb Kain, 14, of East Wenatchee,
despite his displeasure at bricks in the concrete that slow him
and his fellow skaters down.

�It�s a little small,� he added later. �But it�s a skate park,�
he said, clearly excited to have anything at all to skate on.
He said he�s been waiting for it to open for the past six months.

�I think they should extend it over there,� said Justin Ashbrook,
12, visiting from Flagstaff, Ariz., motioning toward the northern
part of the park.

�I�m stoked on it,� said Nathanael Kempff, 28, of East Wenatchee.
�I�m stoked we can get people together to make it happen.� The
skate park feature was funded entirely through donation and
volunteer labor.

Mike Leeds, head of Community for Wenatchee Valley Skate Parks,
said about 20 individuals and about a half-dozen general contractors
volunteered their time to help build the 2,000-square-foot skate park.

Community for Wenatchee Valley Skate Parks is a nonprofit
organization that spearheaded the project. Leeds said the project
was worth about $80,000 from concept to completion.

Leeds said safety fencing was taken down Saturday and the feature
was ready to go by midday. By Saturday night, there were kids
everywhere, he said.

�The reason I�m doing this and the reason I think most everybody,
if not everybody, involved is doing it is all for the kids, and doing it
to give back,� said Leeds.

The kids seem to appreciate it. On a hot Monday evening, those
using the park talked about how they like the location � so close
to home � and also about some features they feel it�s missing.
�You don�t have to go to Wenatchee,� said Nathan Ashbrook, 14,
of East Wenatchee. �... I can just walk down the road (to the park.)�

�I think they should have put a drinking fountain in,� Nathan
said on a day when the thermometer pushed 100-degrees.

Hunter Urban, 11, who was visiting from Kentucky, agreed,
�I hope they put in a water fountain.�

BMXer Ben Pettit Is UCI Worlds

Australias second-best 13-year-old BMX rider and Centralian
rising star, Ben Pettit, will be pedalling for glory as he takes
on the world's best 13-year-olds at the 2010 UCI BMX World
Championships in South Africa.

Pettit touched down in South Africa on Sunday and will be getting
in some track time in preparation for the world championships in
Pietermaritzburg, which start on Thursday and finish on Sunday.

Red Centre BMX Club registrar Kate Skinner believes Pettit could
go all the way in this year's event. She said: `Ben has got the
potential for a podium finish.

`He could go all the way for a top four finish.'

The only Red Centre BMX Club member to race in this year's
world championships, Pettit has the task of making the top 16
out of 31 competitors to qualify for the quarter finals and, from
there, to have a crack at becoming world champion.

Pettit's BMX club is stoked about Pettit's achievements.
Skinner said: `The club is really pleased that he has been
recognised as a real talent.

`He has worked very hard and Ben and his family
have shown a real commitment to racing.'

In other local BMX news, Australian BMX Olympian Luke Madill will
run two days of coaching clinics at the end of August to help local
riders prepare for the Masters Games and the NT Titles in October.

Training is now back to normal at the Red Centre BMX Club as the
track has been fixed after it suffered rain damage earlier this month.

Kids Can Build Own Skateboard

A shredder's dream: Build skateboards.

Looks like every shredder�s dream has come true. Kids ages
10 and older can build their own skateboard this summer at
the Port Townsend School of Woodworking at Fort Worden
State Park.

Over the course of two weekends, Aug. 7-8 and Aug. 14-15,
students build their own skateboard decks using vacuum-pressed
veneer over a foam core. Trucks are attached to the completed
deck, and the finished product is a ready-to-ride skateboard.

Classes run 1-4 p.m. on each of the four days. Students
need to attend all four days to complete the skateboard.

The class is taught by John Edwards, who started building skate
boards in 1968 and has never stopped. In fact, he passed the
habit on to his daughter, who now runs a small skateboard company.

The Port Townsend Elks Lodge #317 is generously sponsoring the
course, and the Port Townsend School of Woodworking is donating
shop time to help keep the class as affordable as possible.

The two-weekend course is $250.

On track for the UCI BMX World Championships.

The world�s best BMX athletes converge on Pietermaritzburg,
South Africa, this week for the 2010 UCI BMX World Championships
(July 29th � August 1st). In total, 1,100 riders from 37 countries will
fight it out in the Elite and age-group competitions.

Due to injury, the current World Champion Donny Robinson (USA)
will not be able to defend his title, leaving the Elite Men�s title open
for contention.

One of the favourites is Olympic Champion Maris Strombergs (LAT),
who convincingly won the last UCI BMX Supercross World Cup in
Copenhagen. He will face strong competition from Sam Willoughby,
making his debut in the Elite category. Last year, the young Australian
won the Juniors world title in his hometown Adelaide. Victory this
weekend would make him the first rider ever to win a Juniors and
Elite world title back to back.

Another rider to look out for is Sifiso Nhlapo (RSA). The former World
Cycling Centre trainee is back in shape after a serious injury in 2008.
After strong performances in recent major North American BMX events,
he will be extremely motivated to go for gold in front of his home crowd.

Favourites in the Elite Women�s class include La�titia Le Corguill�
(FRA), who won both rounds of the UCI BMX Supercross in 2010,
World Champion Sarah Walker (NZL) and 2008 World Champion
Shanaze Reade (GBR). But that is not to dismiss the likes of
Caroline Buchanan (AUS), former Juniors World Champion
Mariana Pajon (COL) and Alise Post (USA).

Racing in the Juniors Men class will probably be very close:
Corben Sharrah (USA), Conner Fields (USA) and Tory Nyhaug
(CAN) are all capable of claiming the top spot.

In the Juniors Women class, keep your eyes out for Brooke Crain
(USA) and Merle Van Benthem (NED) who both have good results
racing against senior Elite riders in the UCI BMX Supercross world
cup series.

The athletes will start training today (26th July) on the track that
has been purposely built for the World Championships. It is unique
in that it is the first track to feature separate straights and start ramps
for the Elite athletes and the challenge riders competing in the age-
group races.

�The track is one of a kind,� enthused UCI BMX Coordinator Johan
Lindstrom. �Never before have we built a course with two separate
start ramps. The track itself is technically difficult and demanding�.

Dew Tour Hits Chicago For BMX

With No. 1 BMX rider Jamie Bestwick marching toward a sixth
consecutive Dew Cup championship, the 2010 Dew Tour makes
its regular stop in Chicago this weekend.

The Chicago stop at Soldier Field's south festival lot on Friday
and Saturday is dubbed the Nike 6.0 BMX Open. It will feature
nearly 200 of the world's top BMX athletes and motocross riders
showcasing their skills in vert, park and dirt competions. It also
is the first stop of the season on the Dew Tour, and the only
BMX-specific stop on the tour.

The Nike 6.0 BMX Open will be broadcast from
4-6 p.m. ET Saturday and Sunday on NBC Sports.

The venue opens at noon Friday and runs to 9 p.m. with a two-hour
concert following Friday's runs. On Saturday, it opens at noon with
the last event, the BMX vert finals, from 6-7 p.m.

Outside of the competition, fans can enjoy Toyota's Adrenaland in
the Festival Village, which offers many interactive events to entertain
fans and put them in touch with their favorite athletes. Bestwick will
be available to take pictures and sign autographs on Friday from 1pm-
1:40 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 12:40 p.m.

Mike Spinner on comeback trail at BMX Open

When Mike Spinner burst onto the BMX scene,
competitors were more than surprised.

"People weren't too happy," he said with a laugh.

The 22-year-old only earned his way onto the pro circuit four years
ago by winning a wild-card slot off an amateur performance. Now,
he is one of the best in the sport � fielding major corporate
sponsorships, traveling the world and owning a home in Miami
with a 12,000 square foot training facility in the backyard.

On Friday and Saturday, he will compete in the Dew Tour's first and
only BMX-specific event of the season in the Nike 6.0 BMX Open at
the Soldier Field South Festival Lot against other top pros such as
Garrett Reynolds, Jamie Bestwick, Ryan Nyquist and legendary rider
Dave Mirra.

Spinner will try to pull off a new trick � a 1080 turndown that includes
three full spins and a variation in the middle � that he has been
working on for two years.

It's a hurdle Spinner hopes to clear after coming back recently
from a torn knee ligament tear suffered while attempting a
quadruple tailwhip that kept him off a bike for eight months.

"You don't know even know (how hard it was)," Spinner said.
"Pretty much, the injury got to a point where coming back was
mental.

Sometimes I was real excited and sometimes I was stressed
out. Will things come back easy? The last month or two have
been amazing. I've landed all my big tricks and a few times
landed the trick I got hurt on."

Spinner did not take his ascension in the
sport for granted even before the injury.

At 16, he was working as a dishwasher and busboy in Florida
restaurants. He had played a variety of team sports but found
performing tricks on his bike more and more alluring.

When his mother Jane died from emphysema,
he found comfort in competing.

"BMX was my getaway," Spinner said.

He usually won small amateur competitions but when he won a stop
of the Free Flow Tour in 2006 by landing the first-ever tailwhip 720
in competition, his life changed. He entered the PlayStation Pro as
a wild card and shocked competitors and fans as he qualified first
in the preliminaries by landing every trick.

Before his injury caused him to fall to a No. 31 ranking last
season, Spinner ranked second in 2007 and 2008 in year-end
Dew Cup standings.

In last season's Chicago stop, Spinner's tire blew out for
both of his runs during competition and he finished 12th.

This weekend, he said, he's ready to surprise the field once again.

"My goal is to be in the top three spot in every tour," Spinner said.
"You never know what's going to happen."

Championships will be the first of its kind in the world.

Work on Pietermaritzburg's one-of-a-kind track for the UCI BMX
World Championships in on the go at the Royal Showgrounds. As
the track comes together, Internet users are able to view its
construction by webcam on the event's official website.

Pietermaritzburg's mayor Mike Tarr got the construction going on
Thursday last week when, armed with a shovel, he turned the first
sod at the Royal Showgrounds. He watched with admiration as special
soil started to be dropped onto the surface of the main arena, which
will be sculpted into a world-class BMX track.

The sought after soil, which has been sourced in nearby Tweedie,
has a distinctive reddish colour because of its high iron content and
its high clay volumes. It is readily compactable, making for a smooth
fast ride.

'It's great for the city of Pietermaritzburg'

"It's good to get out of the office for a few minutes and be a peoples'
mayor," commented Tarr. "I'm at home with a spade in my hand, and
wish this very prestigious event very well. It's great for the city of
Pietermaritzburg."

The transformation of the piles of treasured earth to the race venue
is taking place under the direction and bulldozer of Tom Ritzenthaler,
the UCI's full-time BMX track builder.

The larger-than-life American has a reputation as a man with a
tireless work-ethic who uses his earth-moving machines like a
natural extension of his hands to artistically tracks. The one
being built for the World Championships will be unique.

When completed, the track will be the first first ever double track,
with a special eight-metre-high "hectic" start or pop-out ramp for
the Elite Category, and a smaller safer start ramp for the rest of
the entrants.

The main track will also be the longer track
at 375 metres for a World Championship.

A permanent track

Event Director Alec Lenferna who was on hand to watch
Pietermaritzburg's mayor wield the shovel, was clearly keen
to pick up a spade too, but reflected: "I so hope we can find a
good venue to put all this precious sand, creating a permanent
track for the city."

"If Durban gets the Olympics 2020, we'd have a head-start
to offer a nearby Olympic-standard BMX facility," he added.

Competitors will be using the Pietermaritzburg UCI BMX World
Champs to qualify for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The South African Elite competitors are fronted by Sifiso Nhlapo
who is currently racing in the USA and achieving plenty of good results.
Also leading the way will be Dean Holdstock, who suffered a suspected
cracked vertebrae after a crash earlier this month at the South African
Nationals in Alrode, Gauteng, but who is reported to be responding to
treatment.

Development contingent

An impressive contingent of Ilanga Newspaper-sponsored
development riders will be arriving from Giba Gorge near Durban.

The four-day event will have a distinct family-friendly feel, with
safe nearby parking, lots of good seating, a disco, and tasty food
and refreshments on site.

Stein, Meyers added to USA Cycling BMX Worlds squad.

Meyers and Stein will compete on the supercross track in
South Africa at the upcoming BMX World Championships.

USA Cycling has announced the final squad that will contest the
UCI BMX World Championships in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa,
July 29 � August 1. Joshua Meyers (Treasure Island, Fla./Factory
S Squared-Troy Lee Designs) and Denzel Stein (Desoto, Texas/
Redline Bicycles) have been added to the American line-up that
will contest the elite men�s event following injuries suffered by
veterans Donny Robinson (Napa, Calif./Hyper-Monster Energy)
and Kyle Bennett (Conroe, Texas/Free Agent-Rockstar) during
pre-worlds training.

�While we�re sad Donny and Kyle won�t be able to participate in
the event, we are excited to be able to offer two top young talents
the opportunity to gain experience on the world�s highest stage,�
said USA Cycling�s BMX Program Director, Mike King.

One of the hottest riders on the domestic circuit, Meyers earned
his discretionary nomination to the elite men�s squad following
solid performances in this season�s UCI BMX Supercross World
Cup events and as one of the top U23 riders in the overall
Supercross World Cup rankings. At age 19, Stein earned a
discretionary nomination proving himself as one of the top
riders in USA Cycling�s 2010 U23 Men�s BMX Power Rankings.

Robinson, the reigning world champion, and Bennett are not
expected to compete in South Africa; however the pair of Olympians
will remain on the official roster. Both are expected to complete a
full recovery and plan to return to competition later this year.

Wenatchee, Washington -- 07/20/2010

The information technology manager at Alcoa�s Wenatchee
Works was in serious condition at Harborview Medical Center
in Seattle Monday afternoon with injuries suffered in a bicycle
accident Sunday afternoon.

Lt. Kent Sisson, a spokesman for the Chelan County Sheriff�s
Office, said Mark B. Lindman, 57, of Malaga, was apparently
riding with his head down on the Malaga-Alcoa Highway about
3:30 p.m. when he struck a car that was parked alongside the
highway. The accident happened at the intersection of the high
way and Hedges Road.

Sisson said the driver of the car had pulled over to talk
on his cell phone, and was legally parked off the roadway.

Lindman was first treated at Central Washington Hospital,
then was transferred to Harborview. Sisson said Lindman
suffered a spinal injury.

Watch for New Signs Touting Spokane's Status as
a Bicycle Friendly Community. Summer Parkways
participants can check out sign on Howard St.

Spokane is a �Bicycle Friendly Community,� and
new signs are being installed to tout this achievement.

This summer, the League of American Bicyclists awarded
Spokane the honor of a Bronze Level Bicycle Friendly Community.

Signs have been installed on Howard St. near its intersection
with Cataldo Ave., and on High Dr. near 43rd Ave. Three more
signs will be installed in other locations later this summer.

The sign on Howard has been installed just in time to show it
off to participants in the new Summer Parkways event, which
is scheduled for Sundays, July 11 and Aug. 22. For the event,
Howard Street between Riverfront and Corbin parks will be closed
to all motor vehicles and open to all human-powered transportation,
including bikes, skateboards, and walking.

�This award is a big deal for Spokane,� says Grant Wencel, the
City of Spokane�s Bicycle-Pedestrian Coordinator, who will have
a booth at the Summer Parkways event. �We are making significant
strides in improving our community for all kinds of cyclists.�

Spokane was one of 16 new cities to receive the bicycle friendly
award in 2010. The program is designed to revolutionize the way
communities evaluate their quality of life, sustainability, and
transportation networks.

Mayor Mary Verner contributed the City�s success, in part, to a
variety of recent accomplishments, such as the completed Master
Bike Plan, bicycle events like Spokefest and Bike to Work Week,
and projects like the Fish Lake Trail.

The gate goes down and the "Flying Worm" shoots out to an
early lead, careening over the dirt mounds and tearing around
the corners. Clad in a riding suit sporting his sponsor Rockstar
Energy Drink's logo, the 14-year-old zooms past his competitors
and eases across the finish line.

"My favorite part is getting big air off the big jumps,"
says Korey "Flying Worm" Wermling. "And the victory."

Wermling is just one of dozens of local bicycle motocross riders
who can be found racing at least once a week in Great Falls at the
track. The speedster has been peddling his way through races for
seven years, many of them at the Electric City BMX Park.

Each Tuesday and Thursday night, and every other Saturday
during the summer, local youngsters gather at the park for a
series of friendly races. The races offer kids a taste of sports
other than the usual team-based games they could play around
town, said Dan Otis, the track's operator.

"From what I've seen," Otis said, "some kids just don't take to
the team sports very well, not that there's anything wrong with
that. Some of them seem to like this kind of sport; it's more of
an independent thing.

"If you don't want to show up on a Tuesday night and race and
would rather stay home, you're not letting the team down and
you can do that."

Otis' prognosis holds up as far as Wermling is concerned.
While he enjoys the occasional game of football, the track
is home to his real passion.

"I prefer racing and only counting on myself," he said of his
ventures on the BMX and racecar courses. "I'm not really one
to depend on anyone but myself because I'm super competitive."

With help from race veterans like Wermling as well as newcomers,
the track's populace has been growing in the last few years, Otis
said. Despite that, though, many people still remain unaware of the
weekly races.

"It's funny because it isn't widely known that we're
here, but it's been here for a long time," he said.

Actually, there's been a steady bike racing scene in Great Falls
for about three decades, said Otis, who's been running the track
for the last five years. But their headquarters has bounced around
from location to location in the city, most recently landing on a patch
of city-owned property on 21st Avenue South across from Multi-
Sports Complex.

The most recent move allowed for the BMX club to build a new track
that's up to the standards of the American BMX Association, Otis said.

Otis, who got involved with the group when his son took an interest
in the sport, said it was important to construct a bona fide course
because it would help further BMX as a legitimate activity in the
Electric City. It stands as one of only two official tracks in the state
along with the Gallatin Valley BMX Park in Bozeman.

"To me, it's a big deal to keep it up and going," Otis said.
"Once it's gone it's going to be pretty much gone for good.
They're very hard to start up again from scratch."

Keeping kids on the dirt track can be a bit difficult since many
tend to do less riding as they get older. So Otis and his fellow
track volunteers have to do extra work to continuously invigorate
the sport for younger kids.

"We have a pretty big turnover because once kids get up to the
14 or 15-year-old mark, they get into the drivers license age,"
he said. "That's fine, but they begin to lose interest in bicycles."

But there's always a new generation of kids who love to ride and
they find their way over to the club. Zach Gmaz, a 12-year-old rider,
has only recently discovered the wonders of the Electric City BMX
Club.

He said bike riding has been one of his favorite activities for
years and he loves cruising alone or in a racing atmosphere.

Since arriving on the race scene about a month ago, he's really
enjoyed the friendships that blossom during weekly competitions.

"That's the best," Gmaz said about the friendliness at the course.
He's made some friends there, too. "A lot of friends," he added
with a smile.

During races, which extend into autumn long as the weather allows,
races are split up into different heats in order to stack racers against
equal competition. Otis said it's never too early for children to get
involved because biking can be a lifetime sport. Youngsters as small
as 5 years old turn out all the time.

"If you can ride without training wheels, you can come out
and race," Otis said. "There are no age limits on it at all.

"The younger kids are actually the most entertaining
things you could ever watch," Otis laughed.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation
with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall
of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using
recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is
illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

2010 Redline Conquest Cyclocross Bicycles and Framesets

Seattle Bike Supply, of Kent, Wash.

Hazard: The bicycle fork's legs can separate from the fork crown and
cause the rider to lose control, posing a fall hazard and risk of injury.

Incidents/Injuries:
The firm has received five reports of cracks near the fork's crown.

Description:
This recall involves all 2010 Redline Conquest Cyclocross bicycles
and framesets. The bicycles and framesets were sold in yellow and
black, and have aluminum frames and aluminum forks with aluminum
steering tubes. "Redline" is printed on the bicycle frame. The bicycles
are equipped with a 700C wheel and frame sizes ranging from 44cm
to 60 cm.

Sold at: Bicycle specialty stores nationwide between July 2009 through
May 2010 for about $1,400 for the bicycle and $400 for the frameset.

Manufactured in: Taiwan

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled
bicycles and framesets and contact their local Redline bicycle dealer
to receive a free fork replacement.

Bike Board Seeks New Members

Wenatchee, Washington -- 07/16/2010

The Regional Bike Advisory Board is seeking more members to
help develop a bicycle master plan for Wenatchee, East Wenatchee
and Rock Island.

Patrick Walker, bicycle and pedestrian planner for the Wenatchee
Valley Transportation Council, said currently there are seven board
members from Wenatchee and East Wenatchee.

�All members ride bicycles on a regular basis for work, pleasure
or utility,� he said. �We are looking for people who have interest
and the desire to help in making their community more bicycle
friendly.�

Walker said he�d like to see at least four more people on the board,
�but if we get seven qualified applicants, we wouldn�t turn them away.�
