Here are a few pics from today at the races. This was right when it started when it was still light out, but turned into some AWESOME night raceing before the first round was done. Finished up around 10:30.

Nice photo shots, looks like I miss a cool BMX event......
I have posted a news tid bit with a photo on my main
web site Genesbmx page to your URL northidahobmx.
check it out.....
I see you are using photobucket.com to host the photos,
Do you happen to have a shot link to the photos album so
it could be linked to?
Taking photos, well if you have not done it alot you just got to
keep trying and trying, Take the cam with you everywhere you
go at the event, if your just kickin it, keep that cam by your side
and pick it up and shoot it at anything that moves. It has been said
by some of the pros that shoot, that in every 25 photo shots in
digital photography - you get 5-10 way good photo shots. Iv found
this to be somewhat true, but once you master shooting at about
10 - 20 events you will end up just knowing how to hold and shoot
the cam. You seen some of my shots from Moses Lake and some
other events, the most that you see are shot by hapNstance just
by point and shoot. If your running a nice digital cam I would say
to have your self 1 or two 1-GB cards as you can max them out
way fast at some events. also a good battory and a back up battory.
becouse you don`t want to go dead in the middle of an event.
Bottom line is to just point and shoot at a target alot.......
and take the cam with you everywhere you go and shoot it.
Play around with your cam at home shoot some moving cars
or the dog running the back yard. You want to learn how to shoot
a moving target, as that is what you will be shooting mostly in BMX.
If you want to know what I shoot photos with go to the bottom of
http://www.genesbmx.com/Photos.html and it will show you my cams.
The top cam is what I have been using this year 2006. But I use
them all depending on what kind of event im at and what kind of
shots I want to shoot.
I hope this helps ya out some, next time we are both at Moses Lake
hit me up and I will try and give you some pointers on shooting, that
is if you don`t pic up on it before...... Trust me shooting at moving
cars as they go down the road you can learn how to point and shoot
fast with in time, don`t forget its a digital photo so your not wasting
money just kill file if you don`t like what you shot..... Good Luck..... _________________ Geneb...Wenatchee,Washington-USA

Hello everyone, Yes its me Gene`s BMX with a long reply
So brake out the pop corn and get your self a pepsi to go
with it, and less get this show going....
Sorry, a late reply to this, A Big time! and hats off to ya~
A well nice done job with the photos Best seen on
the web from this event..... I hope you can keep up the
nice work as I would like to see more from someother
events from you as well. Just keep trying its like riding
a bike once you get the art down of shooting photos you
will be photo crazy with the rest of us all LOL.....nice job
and thanks.....
It looks like everyone had alot of fun in Richland,
I see some of you`s got some of the Washingtons
"""brass"""" way to go everyone, seems no one
from Washington is saying anything about the event
on the web anywheres, Anyone know moto counts
and rider counts from the Richland event? Im lost.
I see a few bikes got lost, Did they get back to whom ever?
I hope so, no word on what happen there or if anyone got
the bikes back. again, Im lost.
I was out surfin for news about the Richland event and ran in
to a linked photo page over on the Columbia Basin BMX site.
Take some time and read my little rant/rave down below,
( http://www.photoreflect.com/pr3/store.aspx?p=37762 )
A small Rant N Rave about this "photo web site" and its doings.
Its nice that someone took the time and shot some bmx photos.
Re, the posted web site link... BUT:::::
Now I don`t blast that much about bmx things less something
is wrong~ In my views of BMX being on the world wide web
it is call sharing the sport. Some people think not, them some
people think they can get rich over night by taking away from
the sharing on the world wide web and snuffing out the word
of sharing by charging money to view photos on the world wide
web. If some of you remember the so called big shot bmx racing
web site ISTV , it showed us how greed can play a big roll on the
web.
Im somewhat glad to see them shrink down today, that pay bmx
web site did do some harm in to the internet's BMXing community.
It drew a line to witch BMXers had money and to witch BMXers did
not have money and making the internet's BMXing community
divide apart. This my frinds is just wrong for its doings in all, But
the fact is, it happend....
I understand money and everyone wants it and in todays world,
one has to have a few bucks to eat and live day to day, but a pay
bmx web site is just wrong when 98% of a topic bmx web site that
is surfed and looked at are viewed by the youth that ride them BMX
bikes in the first place. In my views, Its just wrong asking for money
from the youth on the world wide web. This - a point given to all.
Ok now that I got you all heated up,
This "photos page" I just listed for everyone to check out draws
a small line right up next to a full blown pay bmx web site. Its
in the lines of the wrong zone.
Yes it list and shows us all a sneek peek of a photo letting us
all get a small glance of what went down at this bmx event
But you have to look at all that trashy looking watermark tags
and even more, they want you to buy a print photo from them.
Well by just looking at them so called photos that are there
to be shared with me and YOU, Well Im going to say what I
realy think of this, - Is it a bit of a blast? - yes it is.
This photos web site and its so called webmaster just
flat out SUCK! I don`t know the webmasters but if they are
going to ask for money for there photos, They should not junk
up the photos that "We" the people that have the money, are to
view and buy them, by looking at all of that watermark crap on
them, it makes one think twice before opening up a pocket book.
Yes a "Disclaimer" saying that if you buy a photo it will not have
the watermarks. But who in there right mind would surf a web
site and want to look at junked up photos and not realy get
to see the full photo becouse of all the watermarks on them
and then pay hard earned money for it. You would have to be
a crazy fool if you did. I don`t know about you but being on the
web all the time and buying a hand full of things off the web
here and there, I ask to see a photo of what ever Im buying
so I know what Im buying. Ebay plays roll in that alot for me.
A junked up watermarked photo would make me think twice
befor I bought something.
A junked up photo with tag watermarks is a wast of space
on the web. I would like to know why people even do this?
Greed, well yes thats what it is becouse there is nothing else
that explane it on the web. It does not prevent anything but
makes up for junk on the web.
This photo site, well;
looks as all they care about is getting your money. They don`t care
about the word "SHARE" at all. This photos web site show it well.
To the webmaster of this photos site,
If next time your at a bmx event, shoot the photos and share
them with us all on the world wide web, but share with us the
true photos that you shoot and not a big bunch of junk with
watermarks all over them and ask us all to buy them on the
web. Becouse it is just wrong.
If you want to make money from your photos take your PC
and your printer to the bmx track and print them out on the
spot of the event. Chances are someone would buy them the
day of the event. And, and, and, befor you event blast back
to me about how "If" you did not have that watwermarks on the
photos that someone would steal them and you loose money
on the web becouse of it. Im going to say; Tobad, if you do
not want to share it, don`t event post it on the world wide web.
Thats one of the oldest rules of thumb on the web.
Bottom line of this little rant, the photos on that site
I would not give you a dime for them or have any trust
as what my money would be buying becouse of the photos
having all the junk posted all over them. Buyer be Ware!
I do thank you whom ever shot them photos for taking the time
and going out to the bmx track, But I also realy do pitty you for
Adding A Price Tag In To The Internet's BMXing Community,
with a bunch of junk photos targeting to the youth on the world
wide web.

I don't mind spend a few $ on some pics as long as it is reasonable. The only prob I will say w/ this one is that the thumbnails are too small were you can tell who is who. So you have to click on them to see. And there site is soo slow that I gave up after awhile looking for any. |
