*** Wenatchee Warehouse Goes Up In Flames ***

Wenatchee, Washington (AP)-- 12/19/2006
Fire has destroyed a furniture warehouse in downtown Wenatchee.

The fire at the old Wells & wade hardware
warehouse broke out at about 7:40 this morning.

The building on Columbia Street which serves as a warehouse
for Davis Furniture was totally gutted but no injuries were reported.



Fire officials say the cause is still unknown however, some store
employees reports hearing a loud pop just before witnessing the
smoke and flames.

A 3 block area of downtown Wenatchee was blocked off.

Over 50 firefighters from the City of Wenatchee, Leavenworth,
Cashmere, Waterville, Orondo and Douglas county responded.
