*** BMXer Guns Down & Kills Boy, 11 ***

Liverpool, UK (World News Wire) -- 08/23/2007
A boy of 11 was shot dead as he strolled
across a pub car park last night by a young
killer on a BMX bike.

The lad, named by locals as Reece Jones, was
blasted in the head as he walked home after
playing a football match for the pub's youth team.

Two teenagers, aged 14 and 18, have been arrested
on suspicion of murder and are being questioned by
police.

A witness said the killer rode up to his victim and fire
three shots outside the Fir Tree pub in Croxteth, Liverpool.

He added: "A lad cycled up on a BMX and just shot
him - bang, bang, bang. Then he rode off. It was sickening."

Scores of officers, many of them armed, raced
to the pub - which is yards from the victim's home.

As some hunted the killer, others held back a large
crowd of angry locals who dashed to the pub after
hearing the shots just after 7.30pm

A mum-of-one of the victim's teammates told how
parents who had been watching the football tried to
save him.

She said: "We heard a bang but nobody thought anything
of it. But as we walked past the car park, we saw a young
boy slumped in the corner.

"A few of the parents tried to resuscitate him.
But he died before the ambulance arrived.

She added: "It got pretty ugly before the
police turned up. A lot of people were
very angry.

"Some of the youngsters said it was
a 12-year-old who fired the gun."

Police said there was no evidence to suggest a gang link.

This news clip is sickening to see, but it`s
not something unexpected to see happing
as more and more young kids are seen
carrying around hand guns as they BMX.
