TI Cycles bring US-brand of Schwinn leisure bicycles in India.



Schwinn, America’s fastest and oldest selling range of bicycles
will be available in India for the first time courtesy TI Cycles.

These international range of leisure and recreation bikes were
unveiled by Dr. Raghu Ram, President (Bicycles and Fitness),
Tube Investments of India and Mr Edward Vlutters, Director
International Sales Asia Pacific, Cycling Sports Group.

At the introductory phase, cycling enthusiasts can avail these
world-class leisure bicycles at all the leading retail outlets of
TI Cycles of India. The price of these bicycles would range
from Rs. 7,190 to Rs. 21,000. Schwinn brand offers various
ranges of bicycles like Ridged Fork, Suspension, Road, BMX,
Hard Tail and Kids.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Raghu Ram, president (Bicycles
and Fitness), TII, said, “The concept of cycling has taken a
paradigm shift of being a mode of transportation to becoming
an entity for fitness, sports and recreation.

TI cycles in its sixtieth year of business have adapted the “Faster
Fitter Greener “mission to present the new future of cycling and
fitness in India. Over the years of experience of tracking the
Indian consumer behaviour where price and quality plays a vital
role, TI Cycles of India has now launched ‘Schwinn’ in partnership
with America’s leading Cycling sports group.”

He also added, “TI has been connecting to its large consumer
base by bringing in the dimensions of consumer involvement in
cycling by promoting mass and niche events such as BSA Hercules
cyclothon, BSA Hercules Duathalon, Hercules MTB Himachal BSA
Tour of Nilgiris etc. The launch of Schwinn caters to the customer’s
expectation of quality and price, and also promotes the joy of
cycling for a healthy and greener future.”

TI has recently introduced its initiative of Track and Trail with
Cannondale and Bianchi range of bikes which are focussed for
the performance rider .These bikes provide the customer riding
efficiency and performance which has not been experienced in
the Indian market before. On this occasion Dr Raghuram also
pledged TI’s commitment to plant a tree for every single bicycle
sold in the premium range.

Commenting on the occasion, Edward Vlutters, director,
International Sales Asia Pacific, Cycling Sports Group, said,

India to launch our fastest and oldest selling brand.

India has a great cycling culture and is the largest bicycle
manufacturer in the world. In a span of over 3 years, we believe
that India can become one of our most important export markets,
mainly due to the increase in awareness of being fitter and greener.”
He also added “We strongly believe that our collaboration with TI
Cycles of India will help us cater to the Indian market and suffice
the consumer’s expectations.”

K.C. Ramamoorthy, general manager-Retail, TI Cycles of India,
was also present at ‘Schwinn’ range launch in New Delhi along with
the other dignitaries from TI Cycles of India and Cycling Sports group.

TI has also invested in its Chain of Exclusive BSA GO and HE
stores along with its HBZ chain of SIS. Today the combined
network spans over 380 stores. This makes it the only company
in India with an organised network of retail outlets promoting the
cause of cycling and fitness.

It is to be mentioned that TI Cycles of India is a part of Tube
