Hello,
Another suggestion: it would be nice if one could choose not to use the build in details/edit section, but have the option to post the selected record id to a custom made php file external to the grid class code. In other words: to to be able to define an "alternate details view" and "alternate edit" php page being called from within a grid view. This way, more complex layouts (for example with elements grouped in divs or iframes, or with controls not included in the grid code) could eventually be handled in custom made pages, while still using your nice grid functionality for listing, paging, sorting, filtering and selecting a record. Also, this way we would be less bothering you with all kinds of exotic new features that one or two people in the world would like to have you coded....

you can do this already ... http://www.phpbb88.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=60&mforum=phpbuilder
using the F_RID for the id you can do what you want with the current row.
I think all this exotic new features make Datagrid much more powerfull than
the rest of the products out there.
Greetings

In fact the same as above holds for exporting to Excel (or to pdf, or to any other format where you could write your own code for) and for printing: leave the programmer the option to define his own pages for this, by making the grid to $_post the record ID and/or the other query parameters to an alternate url. This way, maybe some nice plugin codes come back to you, and you could then decide if you integrate them in the next version of the grid package or not
