This is Queenie and Myself on our wedding day with Queenie's sister Nikki and my brother, Dave otherwise known as Futnucks!! We married on 19th September 1992 at Gloucester Register Office. The reception was held at The Bristol Hotel, Bristol Road, Gloucester where our good friend, Rockin' John spun the wax and further good friends, The Sunsets, provided the live entertainment. At the time we were both members of local band The Rebounds and so did a short set midway through the evening.
Carrying Queenie to the Car.
Our wedding car, Verity, was a 1957 Vauxhall Velox E Series owned by our friend Spanner.

A kiss for the cameras.

Final Installment: The Reception.
This was our main cake designed by ourselves and made by Queenie's Dad. The figures on top started out as traditional figures but I modified them to replicate our outfits for the day. Queenie made her own wedding dresss (as well as my Waistcoat and Tie) and although I had no idea what her dress looked like she gave me a swatch of the fabric so I could at least do something to the figure.
Our second cake. Also made by Queenie's Dad. This had a 1:43 scale model of a 1958 Vauxhall Cresta on top. The black designs in the corners were modelled on a doodle that Queenie used to do of a quiff and ponytail and were made of black icing.
Cutting the cake.
Preparing to do our set with the Rebounds. |
