From the looks of it someone has been off-roadin at the end of horseshoe. there are the three options at the end of the trail, the one to the left, the one in the middle and the one to the right. Someone has been driving in one side passing over the trail near the entrance to the middle option, and out the other side. it is tearing up the dirt, messing up the trail and knocking down trees. the also tried to drive up the large drop of the middle option. the knocked down some trees there and rutted the trial. i move the trees and smoothed out the dirt as much as i could with my foot. if we have any more of those poles that we used at the end of black forest, we may want to block off the left and right options of horseshoe so they cannot off road there. _________________ Steve S is SLOWER than me! |

Sick of Trail Captains doing nothing.
What the hell is this? Are you just trying to piss me off? I rode their today- A couple of overgrown areas, a little muddy- Big stinking deal! Their are people who fish, run, ride 4x4's, etc. hitting the trail all the time? Not saying I agree with all the activity, but it's a public park. What the hell is the problem? Maybe we should just carpet the trail for you.
Start speaking after you've put a couple of years into the trail- Sick and tired of hearing whiny arse talk from people. Don't know who you are and I don't care- Posting this kind of crap is not a positive thing- Just pisses me off.
Because you did some trail maintennce doesn't mean s**t. Lot's of people have and they don't post up. If theirs off-road activity, we tell the park people- We are not the police.
If you want to meet me, name a time and place- Screw this kind of talk. |

What have you done swl as trail captain. Certainly not schedule any maintenance this summer. Oh boy, im glad that you have worked on the trails for years longer than i have, but guess what, work that was done a year ago isnt going to help the trail today. And yeah, the trails arent horrible but they could be a lot better. And what is this come and meet me crap, what are you in middle school. F*uck you and F*uck ridge riders. You are all a bunch of unappreciative bastards.. Ill just take all my work to the other club in the area, you know the one that has trail captains that actually do stuff, club rides ever week and people appreciate that you care. Screw stupid club, sorry ray im done until stuff changes. _________________ Steve S is SLOWER than me! |

(Insert Rodney King quote here)
Web boards ruined Mountain Biking?......
Dont say sorry to me. Tell the club.
It is tough for me to sit back and read all this crap and try to maintain a level of professionalism, leadership and composure.
We (RRMBA) was created as a trail maintainence club. Period. Club rides and gatherings are cool but the main focus is to maintain the trails at carter and the Toe (R.I.P.). We lost the lease on the TOE and along with it many members that joined to access the TOE. Naturally the thought would be that with all focus on Loyce that we surely would have a great trail. Things looked good and we got several people fired up about trail work, got some new trails built and old problem areas fixed.
Now everyone please tell me where it went wrong from there?
If anyone wants to quit because of another member/s and make the club suffer that is weak.
To use this forum to diss the club or another member is even weaker.
I will not take the position of talking someone into staying or leaving the club.
MORE PEOPLE THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE LURK HERE -WTF?
I dont want to start erasing posts and censoring anything here.
my number is 863.559.7588
email raymondwells@hughes.net
Any issues PLEASE contact me. Simple.
Any beef with another member use the PM feature and exchange numbers and talk it out.
We would still have many members around that were willing to work if we just acted like adults and communicated instead of spewing out misinterpretated words on a forum or walked away because of another member in a bike club. Think about it. We are a friggen bike club. Main focus is FUN? Helllllllo?. I took this on for fun and to make and maintain some cool trails to ride on. Again I ask WTF?
Anyway..I rode at Santos today and had a great time and saw some cool peeps! _________________ "By helping out, you are saying thanks to all those who make your trails great!" |

Dude- Check some of my previous posts- I appreciated the work you did on the trail- And yes, I would like to meet you, just because I don't know who you are to discuss comments, etc. When you post up with the work that both you and your wife do on the trails, I believe props are given.
What ticked me off is that I rode LHP yesterday- Saw some new people who were digging the whole place- Happy and enjoying the trails- Rode the 3rd finger- Very nice. A lot of positive stuff going on. |

I rode LHP for the first time in weeks (lack of riding due to the rains) on Thursday of last week and Saturday and although there are certainly areas that could use maintenance, the entire trail was rideable. Thanks to all who have endured during the summer. This has been an incredibly wet summer and as the rains slow down, the trail will improve.
I need to find a job that isn't so demanding. |

| In the summer the only maintenance that needs doing normally is some weedeating and mowing. If you do too much of the other stuff the rain messes it up. I think Reese and some others have been doing that. I can't speak for the other trail captains and btw Ray put me down for a trail captain I don't remember volunteering, but I might have. As far as I'm concerned you wouldn't have a trail to mow with out some of the trail captains listed. Just step up and get'r done.A possible meeting to reinstate the responsibilities for the trail captains may be in order. Poor Ray tries to be democratic and have board members and trail captains etc..and all he gets are pansies. I found that out long ago. I called all workdays, paid all the bills, did the newsletter, website, memberships, met with local politicians etcc....the list is long. I felt like I couldn't rely on anyone. Now having said that when it was time to work on the trail the gang showed in force and we knocked it out. One chief and a bunch of indians is the best way. It keeps the pansies factor out of the equasion. If someone wants to quit not quit work not work.. whatever. That's what the fag board is for.It will get done by people like Ray or me and the other MEN and Women who understand the big picture. BTW anyone can call a workday. |

I am sorry for blowing up like that everyone. Especially for tell telling steve to F off. That is not like me, I was just in a really bad mood. I really love the RR and I was just getting concerned that things were turning the wrong way. I know that things will come back together and this club will go on for a long time. I cant wait till we get some work days soon so we can all get together and have some fun. Hope to see you all on the trail soon, and ray call me, i still would like to get that weed eater. _________________ Steve S is SLOWER than me! |

No problem here- I should learn to not express my feelings after a couple of cold adult beverages.... We've all been pissed off about something on the trail, lack of trail maintenance, guy's fishing, etc. Part of being in a club. |

Im thinking about doing some work on horseshoe tomorrow and i want to know what people think before i do it. My concern is the root climb on the second half of horseshoe. now dont get me wrong, i would love to keep it the way it is, it is great, but there are people that are having alot of trouble. i see people there crashing a lot. now being that i like to keep things technical here is my suggestion. what if we fill in with dirt on one side and leave the roots exposed on the other. I was thinking filling with dirt on the left and leaving the right side the way it is. that was you can still have the techical and transition through it to the option to the right, and the people that dont like the roots can ride to the left. let me know what you all think, like i said im all for leaving it the way it is so if thats the consensus sweet, but it is a blue trail. if the choice is do it, i will take care of it tomorrow. im also trying to find some wood to fix the bridge on sneaky snake and the moe. and btw, the trails really are pretty good right now, especially for all the rain we had. again sorry for blowin steam. holy cow devils needle is sweet right now with the root exposed again _________________ Steve S is SLOWER than me! |
