For years that I rode clipless I never had a problem with this root. We got along well. In fact, I never saw it. I switched to platforms and the thing has snagged me twice, and sent me flying. It's about 100 yards from the exit of Snake Ridge. It only sticks out maybe 2-3 inches from the left edge of the trail. If you inspect it closer, you can see scars where it has snagged other poor platform riders. Those of us who enjoy the technical aspects of the trail won't miss it. Like I said, I didn't notice it for years. Can I take it out?
I'm sure even Reese won't miss it. |

| If you know it's there, why do you still hit it? Sometimes you need to take a different line or double pump the cranks. Work on missing it first. |

| I rode platforms for a year and never hit anything there, so I say try to adjust to it since you know where it is. |
