|
|
So a new Mountain biker (Kevin) to our great sport and trails is riding the trails at Carter yesterday and heard a rider coming up behind him and his two young sons and finds a spot to get off the trail to let the rider/s by and the guy on a red full suspension Gary Fisher who drives a Black truck with lots of stickers and a rack approach and say "Bout F-ing time" and causes a confrontation in front of his two young sons. Kevin politely asked if he needed to use that language in front of children (on Easter) and he replied very loud "F-You".
Kevin is the Director of communications for the city of Lakeland and is Probably the SOLE REASON the urban crit happens as well as several other cycling events in Lakeland.
Last I checked there was no race going on Sunday??
That bonehead move was the equivalant of the two A-holes who got in the owner of the TOE's face and caused it to close permanetly!
If you know who that was please PM me or post it here for all to see and that guy is not welcome at ANY Red Trail Events. _________________ "By helping out, you are saying thanks to all those who make your trails great!" |

| I will definitely keep my eye out for this one. I can't stand it when people drop the f-bomb in front of kids. Its also pretty messed up to treat another rider like that especially when they are out with their kids on Easter enjoying the trails. If one of the stickers on his truck is a Ridge Riders sticker, maybe we should repossess it. |

What a jerk. If I see him, I'll be sure to get in his way. _________________ If you have the courage to begin, you have the courage to succeed. |

One of the things I love about mountain biking is, that most riders are just awsome and laid back and you can always count on a "hi" or a quick conversation even if you run into a total stranger on the trail.
Then every once in a while some ...insert choice word here... comes along who thinks he's something special and ruins it.
I really hope 'Trail Karma" catches up with this one!
Kevin, please don't let this guy discourage you from coming out with the boys!!

What goes around, comes around! I'll be watching for him. I'll give him a Gary Fisher enema with his own bike!

One thing i learned while i lived in Lakeland kevin, this is a gentleman,s Sport.
and most of the ridge riders are up that Par. I live in Tampa (town & Country)now things are a little different with this crowd. So if i see you with your kids when i ride Carter i,ll prob join and share what i now miss. that small town consideration towards another Human being.
As for that a-hole we kill him with Kindness if that does not work we can always hand him a old good old Brooklyn Beating and feed him to that gator in Big Red.
enjoy your ride and god bless!! |

I was riding this past Sunday and taking a break in front of the fingers when this lady with her dog drove up and asked if it was okay to walk her dog on the trails. I told her absolutely. Most riders are looking ahead, will slow down and let her know they are coming.
Have to share the trails and be courteous.
Ride on Ridge Riders. |
