[Cresta Crazy]

Hi,

I'm Rob, known as Cresta Crazy on most Rockin' Forums. Been a Ted since the mid '70s. I'm married to my gorgeous wife Queenie (Dorsie Babe) and we have a gorgeous, almost 17 year old daughter, Maria-Eléna.

We live in Gloucester but will travel anywhere we can, funds permitting, for real Rock 'n' Roll.

I'm a drummer and have been in/played with various bands over the years, mostly local, Gloucestershire bands plus depping with Screaming Lord Sutch and Wild Bob Burgos.

Heavily into Classic British Cars, particularly Vauxhalls, hence my user name.

As the title of this forum is 'Welcome from Gloucester' I might as well introduce myself here too.

I'm Queenie, Rob's wife so there isn't a lot I can add to what Rob has already said. I've been into the music and the clothes since I was 12 years old. As I grew my love for other elements of the era grew too and I love most things about it. We are trying to furnish our home almost entirely in 1950's style and I wear the fashion daily, including to work.

I have got 2 cars, both 1958 Vauxhalls which I shall introduce in the appropriate place. I am not affraid to don the overalls and help maintain and repair them. I also love Heritage Railways and spend a lot of my spare time (when money permits) on the Severn Valley Railway.

I've previously been in two bands - as a vocalist. The first was a local band that originally formed in the 1960s. In 1992 several of them made the decision to reform and Rob and I were asked to join them (Rob on drums). Then a few years ago several members of the Cresta Club got together and formed a band. We went by the name of Crazy Cresta and the Crooked Crossplies and mainly played for the fun of it at car shows.

Finally, to explain my user name, I love movies from the 1950's and my screen heroine is Diana Dors (known as Dorsie by her first husband, Dennis Hamilton).
